“Beyond the Border” is a special monthly episode of Tuesday Morning Beat, a weekly radio show on Gila Mimbres Community Radio – KURU, Silver City New Mexico.
“Beyond the Border” first aired in July 2024, has focused on conversations to broaden our understanding and acceptance of the experience of death including the personal, spiritual, legal and political.
Co-hosts Scott Plate and Maree McHugh offer an exploration of end-of-life choices that respect the dignity and right to bodily autonomy for each of us. They spotlight interviews with selected guests about death and dying who share personal narratives and wisdom of how ‘death can be a teacher’, and how to assure we have agency to make decisions at end of life. They provide poignant insights of the universal process that we all, someday will face for ourselves and our loved ones. And how we can, walk one another ‘home’.
